Audio and Video

Create a web page and embed or upload Video, Audio, or other files

There are 2 methods for doing this:

Method 1: Embed your video code from YouTube, Vimeo, or other video hosting service.

Method 2: Upload your Video, audio or other media file directly to your site -- just like when you upload a picture (but use the upload media button instead.)

 ..

The text below describes some of the details of this process.

Method 1.  Embed your video code from a video hosting service:  YouTube, Vimeo, or many, many others.

Use an HTML Snippet and insert the YouTube code,  This video happens to describe customizations in the First Cup Site Creator interface.  NOTE THE YOUTUBE LOGO IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER.

Double click on the YouTube logo and you will go to YouTube itself, onto the page where this video was previously posted.

This is the same process that is used to incorporate any third-party service (e.g., PayPal, Vertical Response, and thousands of others) into your site pages on your web site.

Method 2.  Upload a MEDIA file to your site page.  First Cup Site Creator accepts these file types:

Video FLV, AVI, MPEG, MOV, WMV.

Audio MP3, WAV.
Flash SWF.
Please be aware that large media files may be difficult for your user to download to their computer and view.  there are also some file size limitations in uploading to your site.  Another method?  Use the URL of the media file rather than uploading the media file itself.
Need some tips?  Look at the FAQ which has a question about video files and sizes.  However, we have found that it is easier for the part-time webmaster/designer to host videos on a video hosting site (like YouTuibe, Vimeo, and others) and then embed it on webpages on your site.  It can help your users load pages faster, increase SEO, and if you have a series of videos, generate some interactivity between your video space (your YouTube channel) and your business or charity website.
